New Release - GREY JACKS “INTERGenerational”
A deeply personal family story that ultimately ends in tragedy in 1966 Amarillo, Texas. Grey Jack’s album addresses the long-buried story of his grandmother, who shot a man and then took her own life when Grey’s mother was eighteen. The music landscape is painted with vocal harmony, sweeping roots arrangements and orchestral textures, blending the narrative depth of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska with the harmonic complexity and driving melodies of Crowded House.
New Release - Guitar Renegades
“How Many Guitars Does It Take”
Get ready to hear guitar like you’ve never heard before. Intricate arrangements and virtuoso improvisation by five amazing guitarists…..all guitar, only guitar, all the time.
The Guitar Renegades is a quintet consisting of guitarists Cristian Perez, Parker Speirs, Jan Knutson, Tommy Holladay, and Connor Holdridge. The repertoire on their upcoming release How Many Guitars Does It Take reflects Perez’s wide musical interests including jazz, classical music, and pop/rock. His arrangements and the brilliant playing of the guitarists, turns all of the songs into creative jazz, while retaining the original songs essence. The arrangements leave space for concise improvised solos. While the guitar can be considered an orchestra by itself, the five musicians in The Guitar Renegades blend together so well that they speak as one voice.
Pre-release show at DC’s legendary Blues Alley May 12th.
